Originally I grew up in West Texas in the area of Midland/Odessa.  Growing up in West Texas, church was a vital part of my daily life.  At the age of 19 I took my first staff position at a great church in Abilene, TX.

During my early years of ministry, I earned a BA from Howard Payne University and a MA from Southwestern Theological Seminary.For 14 years I served in student ministries in Texas.  For the past 12+ years I have had the opportunity to serve on staff as executive pastor or a part of the executive team in Colorado, Nebraska and Texas.  

Hiring the right people for the right role was a key part of my responsibilities.  Because of my background in the church I have a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to create vision, align vision, implement plans and create a healthy staff culture.   My background provides opportunities to consult with churches that are desiring to clarify vision, develop clear staffing structures as well as meet their staffing needs. Over the years it has been so rewarding to see staff flourish because they are in the right role at the right church.  I am passionate about connecting great churches to great staff.  When churches hire the right staff, great things happen and the Kingdom of God is expanded!

On a personal note I have been happily married to Melissa Garner Teal for 21 since 1991 and we have two awesome teenage boys.  We live in The Woodlands, TX.  As a family we love to snow ski, snorkel and serve others on missions trips.  My hobbies include running, fishing, hunting and building custom features in homes.
